Play Time

When I was a much younger kid I would get fun toys from Santa Claus, friends, siblings and parents. Some had fun sounds to them. However they always seemed to break after a while - the sound stopped working. I think when I got old enough to figure out that some toys needed batteries I would bring this to my mother's attention when a toy would "break." Being the smart mother she is she would tell me that sometimes batteries couldn't solve the noise issue and sometimes the toys just broke. Well, that may be true, but really my mom just didn't want to hear the annoying sounds from all toys accumulated from 9 kids.

When I was a babysitting teenager I grew to think that was a pretty nifty trick my mother played on us. I vowed I would do the same thing to keep my sanity. However, when one of my friends gave me this fisher price kick and play I couldn't help myself to put in batteries to make the noise. Sarah was enthralled for almost an hour this morning while I was getting ready and a few things done. Sarah figured out cause and effect! When she kicked the kickpad the toy made noise. I love it! The only problem is the noise ... Maybe this will be Sarah's toy for when I'm in the shower :)

  1. When we were in nursery someone came and put batteries in ALL the toys. We were going mad! Maybe if you give Sarah the noise makers now she won't like them when she's a toddler? :)
