Cousins are the Best!

It's amazing how having a baby brings the family out of hiding. Roger and I have lived in San Francisco for 2.5 years before Sarah was born and had only two of my sisters and one of his come visit in that time. Since Sarah, All of my sisters, my dad, my mom, Roger's mom and youngest sister have visited. We love having family come into town. It's so fun to play!

This last weekend, my sister Heidi came with her husband and four kids to check out San Francisco. Saturday's biggest hit was walking past the Boudin Sourdough window. The kids literally watch the bakers make various animal shapes for 30-40 minutes.

And the head baker generously gave each child a mini turtle to eat. What a treat!

And if the mini turtles weren't enough - I bought a large turtle for Sunday dinner. It was quite the experience. The only issue with eating "turtle" was the eyes. (Abbey gouged out her mini turtle eyes the day before because she didn't like the eyes). But Henry and Sam were happy to each have half of the turtle head and have the delicacy of "turtle eyes." (which I think were raisins ...)

After Sunday Dinner we read books in my one-bedroom apartment. It's amazing how books can make up for being in small spaces with kids. Abbey reading to Sarah was my favorite. (I took video of it, but I'll have to have Addi show me how to post videos so I can put fun things like that on our blog in the future.)

Oh and I can't forget adding the holding baby Sarah pictures... Sam and Abbey LOVED holding Sarah. Sam would say: "Can I hold Baby Sarah?" and then when he was holding her he would say,"Take a picture." So here you go - Sam and Abbey holding Sarah.

  1. We love you!! We had such a great time in San Francisco. Staying at your home was so much fun. Thanks for being so wonderful. The kids loved seeing their pictures and they really liked the dinner and pancakes you made for them. Abbey wants you to know that she loves you lots and lots and loves little Sarah!!! They also like your backyard.
