I've been meaning to post this ever since the award came in the mail. On March 31st, Roger participated in his first 7-mile race. Sarah and I were there to cheer him on. And can I just say how proud I was when we got his 3rd place award in the mail. WAHOO! The venue was so perfect - the Marin Headlands. The Starting/finishing lines were right on the beach.

I have to say kudos to our friends in the race. Some ran the 7 mile with Rog and others ran the half-marathon. Here's a "before the race" picture.
The funny part of the day was that Sarah and I hung out in the car to wait for Daddy to finish the race. Rog joked that he would have to wake me up when he was finished. And his prediction almost came about. I woke up about an hour after he began the race and woke Sarah up to feed her. When Rog finished the race, he found us still in the car with me nursing Sarah. Oh well. We got some fun pictures anyway.
The other funny story was that Sarah had a blow out and so we had to change her clothes. Good thing Natalie taught me to always have an extra outfit just in case!
Hello
ReplyDeleteyou look so pretty in the bottom picture! I signed up for the Nike Marathon end of October and I don't think I could run a mile right now if it killed me . . .
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could go seven miles up and down hills unless there was a VERY good ice cream stand at the end giving away free large cones with sprinkles. And even then I'd probably give up and drive. : )
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Roger!
Hillary, please tell Sarah that Rosie was coveting her cute shoes with the hearts on the bottoms. They are too cool!
