Saturday was a pretty full day. We started off by heading to the Oakland Temple. My sister Kim watched Sarah outside on the temple grounds. It was soooo great to be in the temple with my husband. I just love the spirit there.
We gave ourselves ample time so we didn’t get rushed at the temple. We ended up with a little over an hour to burn before I needed to head off to my friend’s baby shower in Concord. Since we were a little hungry (we left at 7 a.m. for the temple) we decided to hit Mel’s in Walnut Creek for breakfast. Can I just say I could eat their hash browns anytime? They are scrumptious.

Liz’s baby shower was super cute. There’s just something about being with a new mom-to-be. Everything is fun. It was good to reconnect with my former coworkers and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather in the East Bay.
I love, love Liz’s baby’s room. The yellow and green with dragonflies is just adorable. It made me more antsy in finishing Sarah’s room. But all in good time. I am enjoying my sister spending time with us.

That night we spent some time with the Bohns and Bowerbanks at Mark and Bonni’s new place in Burlingame. We ate pizza and played Apples to Apples (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apples_to_Apples). Sarah and Samuel went to sleep so we could enjoy adult time. As things worked out, we also were scheduled to pick up my boss from the airport at 9:30. And since the Bohns live 5 minutes from the airport we thought it was a great plan. Well due to the fog at SFO, his plane didn’t get in until close to midnight. The later it got the funnier our conversations got. And all this without alcohol ☺. Rog and I ended up going to bed at 2 p.m. I have to say being awake for 20 hours is a huge feat for me. (Oh and don’t worry – Roger had a friend from high school over on Friday night so we didn’t go to bed before midnight). I don’t believe I’ve had this crazy of a schedule since college.
