Roger's youngest brother Glenn is here visiting for the week. On Friday I let him wander through Chinatown on his own before the three of us ventured out to Oakland. (Thanks Jennie for babysitting!) However, I have to tell you that even leaving the city at 3 p.m. we hit TERRIBLE traffic. What usually is about a half-hour drive turned into 1 1/2 hours. But we had a great time. Glenn is entering the MTC in a couple of weeks - he's going to Oklahoma for the next two years. It was neat to be in the temple with my youngest in-law for the first time. He's such a great kid. And can I just say the lights were beautiful.
On the way back, we also hit some bad traffic. (Note to self: Don't go to Oakland on a Friday night. The traffic just isn't in your favor.) And to make matters worse we forgot that we needed gas before getting on the freeway. Just before the toll plaza our gas light turned on. Yikes! We were running on fumes and trying to coast as much as possible in the bumper-to-bumper traffic. Luckily we didn't end up stuck on the bridge. We made it to the gas station and filled up without catastrophe - that is as long as you don't you count $3.69 per gallon in gasoline!
Hi guys! Hey, tell Glenn that Oklahoma is an AWESOME mission! The members are amazing. If he is in the Enid area, we will feed him dinner! Sounds like you guys had a great time.
ReplyDeleteThe temple looks so festive. I don't miss Oakland traffic. Happy to hear you survived. :)
