14 Months Old

Time is flying. I didn't do a 13th month update so here's her stats for the past 2 months.

Sarah is:

* Running, bumping and bruising. No one told me being a mother of a toddler was such a painful experience. She gets going so fast that her feet can't keep up sometimes. Sarah's favorite things to run into are the door frames. It's a good day when she only gets one new bump!

* Climbing up and sliding down stairs. It is sooooooo nice to be able to have her go up AND down the stairs. Most of the time she doesn't even try to go face-first down the stairs. However, she accidentally forgot how many stairs there were on Saturday afternoon, stood up and turned around too early, and fell down 3 more stairs face-first. :( Super sad.

* Talking - This girl is a motor-mouth and is getting better at pronunciation. Today when she woke up she was saying Daaa-y Daaa-y. And her new favorite greeting is Hi-ee. We can even get her to say it on the phone from time to time. She also says "bye" and waves.

* Dancing - Sarah LOVES to dance. Her favorite songs include, "Animal Crackers," "No More Monkeys," and songs from the "Children's Songbook." She gets all excited for "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes."

* Reading - Books are Sarah's favorite "toys." Every morning she picks up books and intently studies each page before turning it to the next. And when mommy or daddy reads to her she is so focused. (It's probably the only time I can get her to sit still.) Sarah got 123 Sea and Moo on the Farm by Julie Fletcher for her birthday. I definitely recommend them. Thanks again Andrea!

Sarah is such a good toddler. We love having all her smiles and energy in our home!

  1. I love reading the updates on your sweet little miss. Don't worry--as she gets her "sea legs" she won't fall down as much! And that time is coming soon, I am sure. Rose was super klutzy at 14 months as well but it's a good learning time for them and it will be over before you know it. Or, as I have to repeat to myself (sometimes several times a day), This Too Shall Pass.
    Sarah, you're a doll!!!
