Seattle

Rog had a business trip this week in Seattle so Sarah and I decided to join him.

We flew Virgin America for the first time. I have to say, very impressed. Sarah LOVED listening to the kids music and the flight attendants were soooooo helpful. I couldn't have been happier. And having Rog there to help with our extremely active 15-month-old was definitely a plus. (Have I mentioned that I NEVER want to travel with Sarah alone again????)

Here are some of our highlights:

Sarah and I met up with one of my old roommates from BYU - Danielle - and her son Nathan. It was sooooo fun. Danielle took us on a tour of downtown Seattle - showing us the finer points of Pike Street Market (like where they shot the Tom Hank's diner scene in "Sleepless in Seattle" or the first-ever-Starbucks. Cool I know!) The next day Danielle took us to a park near a lake where the "Sleepless in Seattle" houseboat floats. Thanks Danielle for being such a fun tour-guide and friend! Here are the kiddos at the park.

Sarah loved hanging out in the room - as long as she had her Wonder Woman book with her. (Thanks Lisa!)

For dinner one night we took Valinda's recommendation and went to Ivars. It was super tasty. Sarah especially loved the "chips" part of our "fish and chips" dinner. She also liked the clam chowder - which was super YUMMY!

Sarah liked to pick Daddy up from training - she really liked the cool seats.

On our last night in Seattle we decided to take the monorail to the Seattle Center to get our picture taken with the Space Needle. (See top of post)

We couldn't go up to the top as there was a special event for the evening so we saved our $32 and went to eat at a Sports grill nearby. Sarah loved getting her first set of baseball cards :)

  3. I'm glad you had a good time. I sometimes think our fair city is pretty but not that interesting. Sorry we had to bow out on the last day, but you know the unpredictability of parenthood. Glad you made it to the space needle. Going to the top is cool, but probably not worth your $32.
And funny about Heather. Just think. You guys slept in the same bed in Heritage Halls. ;) Twilight zone.

  6. Seatle looked cold but I guess you are more used to that kind of weather then I would have been. It is always fun to tag along no matter where you go. Cant wait to see you guys in July!

  8. I just got back from St. George with Kenyon. I figure it is worth flying down and entertaining him full-time for an hour then having a 4-6 hour trip in the car with him crying and uncomfortable. You will have to tell me some good tricks for flying with a toddler because it is definately getting trickier as he gets older. I liked the idea of music:)
