I know I say this all the time, but I can't believe how quickly Sarah grows up. She's definitely getting to be a "big girl." It's fun to see how many habits Sarah is picking up. I mean, most kids get the whole talking on the phone gig pretty early, but ...
I know, I must be on the phone waaaaayyyy too much.
Sarah is quite the talker. One of our favorites is "Oh oh, Spaghetti-o"
Other words on her list are:
* Daannk-do (Thank you)
* Nigh-Nigh (Night-Night)
* Nana (Banana)
* A-ple (Apple)
* Mamamen (Amen)
* bye-bye
* up up
* Hi (This is by far Sarah's favorite word. It's absolutely irresistible. Everyone she meets can't help but say Hi back.)
* Dadeeis (There she is)
Sarah's pretty good at her animal sounds too. I should really get these on video ...
* Meigh (Horse)
* Quck Quck (Duck)
* Baa (Sheep)
* Uff Uff (Dog)
* Qwuck Qwuck (Hen)
* Boo (Cow)
* Meoow (Cat)
* Chee (Chick)
* Raaa (Lion, bear, tiger ...)
* Sssss (Snake)
* Oin Oin (Pig)
Sarah loves to visit the zoo - especially the Family Farm petting zoo. She cracks me up. She wasn't afraid of petting the miniature goats, but when we went into the stable where the sheep were Sarah freaked out when one of the sheep said, "Baaa-aaaa."
Sarah's down to one nap these days. I can tell when I've pushed her a little nap time too late. (that goes for her bedtime too.) She's not the most pleasant tired toddler. We're working on her sharing skills and her "don't hurt the kids" skills. Both tend to be a problem when Sarah's tired and/or hungry. We're practicing "being soft" to mommy, daddy and friends. Hopefully this is one stage she can super-speed through - especially with a baby brother on his way and Sarah heading into nursery...
Daddy is Sarah's favorite ... still. Each morning she wakes up and asks for DaDa. Hmmmm. But alas, who can resist the man who builds you a blanket castle? Sarah loves her DaDa.
Fred was a very soft 1 &1/2 year old...I never really feared for Jr's life that way, I feared she would use her as a toy! Yay for Sarah!
ReplyDeleteWe're with you! Tired toddlers are not pleasant people! Hang in there...I know that Sarah will be a GREAT big sister. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe is such a cutie! I love the skills you are working on: 'being soft to mommy & daddy' & 'not hurting other kids'-that is hilarious! I think they all go thru that at some point. They just don't know their own strength!
ReplyDeleteHopefully this stage will pass quickly and she will begin to understand what being soft means. She is adorable and what a vocabulary she has!
