Trader Joe's

I love going to Trader Joe's. They carry my favorite hummus and flat bread. (Sarah LOVES this treat as well.) We made a quick trip to the store this morning and all was going fairly well. Sarah was in the back of the cart with the groceries, which was fine because we were only picking up a few things (and it's just easier to not have to fight with her to get in the front and buckle up).

Well, as we were in line to check out, Sarah picked up the tub of hummus like she was going to give it to the checker. However, since he was helping another customer she had to wait. Apparently, the wait was a little too long for Sarah. She decided to drop the tub of hummus on the ground. You can probably imagine my horror as the hummus tub broke open and hummus splattered all over the ground. I was mortified. As I picked up the half-shattered tub, another TJ employee came up to me and said, "Here let me take that. Would you like another one?" After I apologized, I mumbled "yes." She assured me that it was no trouble. As if everyday there is someone dropping food products that splatter all over ... She wouldn't even let me pay for the damaged item. And to top it off, she said she is taking a child development class and was learning about how toddlers test out their depth perception. She thanked us for the example!

On our way out another employee gave Sarah a purple balloon. (Another reason we like to go to TJs. Sarah is in LOVE with balloons.)

Anyway, thanks to TJs for making this hugely pregnant lady with a ultra-high-energy toddler leave their store feeling like it just might be an OK day after all.

  1. On days you want to feel better just think, if you were me you would have an 18 month old BUBBA and a five month old! Also, people in San Fran are way nicer than they are in St. George from the sound of it!

  6. so Abbey and I just went to Trader Joe's for the first time. It was great, but much, much smaller than I expected. I also was impressed with our cashier. He was very kind. Abbey came away with some stickers and was also offered a balloon. I think we'll be back.

Aren't you grateful for kind people. I hope I can be nicer.

  7. Ah, Sarah will have excellent depth perception! Don't be too mortified. All kids do crazy things. James peed his pants one time at Barnes and Noble and I had to ask a staff member to mop it up. Yuck.
