We went to the zoo on Wednesday for free day. I had planned to leave with the kids at 9:30 am so we could get there right when it opened ... we ended up leaving at 10:15. I'm learning that getting out with another kid can be pretty tricky. Sometimes I'm later than I think because it takes that much longer nursing. Other times it's because I find Sarah with a poopy diaper just as we are about to leave the apartment. I'm guessing the "incidentals" are always going to be there ... there is always something isn't there?
Sarah LOVED running around at the zoo. She definitely got her miles for running! She LOVED seeing the animals - the zebras, monkeys, flamingos, meerkats, prairie dogs ducks, etc. (We didn't go too far off the path to the Children's Zoo.) She liked petting the goats on the family farm, but the sheep were a little big and scary this time. Sarah also enjoyed playing on the tractors and pushing the wheelbarrows. We ended up staying an hour and a half. Will slept in the stroller the whole time. I pulled him out at the end for a quick photo to document his first trip. (Thanks Stephanie for having your camera there and sending me the photo!)
A little mom tip I have found that I have to add 15 minutes for each child when we are leaving the house. So if I know I want to leave a 9:30 then I have to start getting ready to leave at 8:45. It is not fool proof but it does work most of the time.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're taking advantage of all that SF has to offer! My, how I miss that city by the bay! And, my how we miss you! You are as beautiful as ever, and the children are growing handsomely, as well.
