Chaos

Yes it is mass chaos at the Osness home. I really don't have time to update my blog, but I thought I would write a few lines anyway. (I really am trying to keep a better history.) This blog is mostly just for that... Feel free to skim.

We were hired as apartment managers for our building - taking over from where Natalie left off last week. (Has it really only been a week!) Thursday we had the apartment patched and painted. Friday the carpet was cleaned and Saturday we started hauling our furniture from our apartment upstairs. Here are a few "before the move" pictures:

While we were taking a break in the afternoon (Rog laying down for a couple of minutes and me looking at furniture online) Sarah surprised us and rolled over! Yippee.

Saturday night we picked up Sarah's crib and dresser. It only took me 6 months of looking on craigslist to find it. (Note that the pictures of the crib and dresser were from the craigslist ad. My Sister Kim is staying with us starting next week for the month of July. We'll set up the crib after she leaves.)

Sunday, I had YW meetings from 1 to 5 p.m. (YW Camp is this week!) When I came home we did a little more organizing. Monday was crazy. I spent the day (between feedings and playing with Sarah) cleaning my old apartment - scrubbing walls and vacuuming. I got a few more things put away. I also had Katie, Bonni and Samuel over for a couple hours in the afternoon. Katie and Bonni were lifesavers helping me watch Sarah and clean my refrigerator. They're such great friends. It was also fun to just chat for a while. I took dinner to a couple who recently had their first baby and then I was off to do my part-time job at the Carters. (Side note - Belgium Waffles at the Carters is a treat. They use ice cream instead of whipping cream and have a delectable assortment of fruit to top it off.)

Tuesday morning boxes were still everywhere. I had someone come by to fill out a rental application. I had Roger & Sarah show her the apartment while I hurried and put together the application. Oh I hate being this disorganized! I did get a little further on my organizing, but had to stop early because Roger's company tickets to see the Giants was that night. I bundled up Sarah, picked up Rog and headed to AT&T Park. One thing I learned was that I love club level seating. We didn't bring a camera, but took a couple of pictures with Roger's phone. The game wasn't too exciting so we didn't feel bad leaving after the 7th inning stretch. (I wanted to stay and sing, "Take me out to the ballgame." That's really why I go.) Rog was great and put away a couple of "his" boxes. I'm finally feeling like we will get there. Organizing the storage may take the month of July, but hey, if I can breathe in my apartment - GREAT.

Today has been awesome. Sarah slept until 8:15 this morning. And since I was up at 6:30 with Rog (OK so he woke up at 5:45) I was able to get the laundry done, a few more boxes ready to take down to the storage room, read my scriptures, do some work for my boss, and BLOG! (Sarah actually went down for her morning nap as well!)

Here's a few pictures of where we are at now. I am excited to look at furniture tonight and tomorrow. It will be nice to have places for pretty much everything. Sarah and I are heading down to Colma this afternoon to get some shelving and other odds & ends. Here's for getting out of Chaos!

  1. Congratulations on your new job, new apt, new furniture. I miss all the good deals and free stuff on Craigslist. And I miss the San Francisco weather sometimes. I can't imagine having to bundle up at this time of year.
