YW Camp!

Rog, Sarah and I returned from a fun-filled adventure at YW Camp. We had such a great time! It was Roger's and my third time at Camp Lehi with the girls of the San Francisco Stake. But it was Sarah's first time. We went up early Friday morning to join in the festivities. On the day's agenda was a 5-mile hike and a trip to the beach.

Sarah had a great time. Roger donned the Bjorn as we hiked near the nature center at Del Oso. (Something about a bear). I love this picture of Roger and Sarah looking at the stream below the bridge.

The beach was awesome. The camp leaders planned a special surprise for the girls. Each young woman received a letter from either her mother or young women leader. The girls loved this special note and spent some time writing in their journals. After our "solo time" we spent a couple of hours playing volleyball, lounging, eating chocolate-dipped strawberries, and doing other fun activities on the beach. It was a hit.

My favorite part of camp is testimony meeting. I love to see how much the girls grow spiritually each year. Their testimonies are so strong. They know they are daughters of Heavenly Father and they know He loves them. I also love to see their support for each other. Their hugs, encouragement and friendship is unbelievable. They are such great examples to me. I am truly blessed because of my association with them.

  1. I have such great memories of girls camp. You and Roger are amazing for all the service you give. And you're already teaching little Sarah by example.
