Game Geeks

It's true. I am a game geek. Roger is a game geek. And we have friends who are game geeks too. Kim babysat for us Friday night so we could hang out with our gamer friends - AKA Ryan and Jennie Gurney. The Settlers of Catan, The Princes of Florence, Puerto Rico - these are games I can get in to!

For Friday night's event, we pulled out a game Rog bought months ago called Caylus. After taking a good 30-45 minutes to get acquainted with the gist of the game, we proceeded to take another 4 hours playing it. The box says it should take a good two hours under regular play (I assume that means if everyone knows how to play it). I have to say it ended up being a pretty good game - lots of moving parts and strategy put in to play. Rog spent time the previous three nights playing it by himself in anticipation for Friday's challenge. (He says it is because he wanted to be able to "teach" us how to play the game ... hmmmm.) His preparation paid off as he pulled away with the victory. We'll get him next time!

  1. That sounds so fun! I guess we're game geeks too. It's been so long since we've played one of those games, since we've had Elizabeth I think. I guess babysitters will be the answer at some point.
