Giants vs Braves

It's amazing that I have been to three baseball games this year. What's more amazing - so has Sarah. And what's even more amazing is that I'm 3 for 3 for blogging about them! My sister Kim's supervisor gave her two tickets (and parking!) to today's Giants game against the Braves. We had the missionaries scheduled for dinner at 7:30 so the 4 p.m. start time was perfect for us. Poor Rog had to work and miss out on the fun. Sarah LOVED it (and the guys behind us). She was giving them tons of smiles and lots of kicks. She loved the 7th inning stretch and all the fun dancing music. Sarah definitely loves sports. She's going to be an all-star for sure.

No Barry Bonds did not hit a home run while we were watching. He got out twice and hit a double. Nothing spectacular. He was still two HR away from tying Hank Aaron's 755. However, the rest of the team fared fairly well. The score was 4-2 Giants when we left half-way through the 8th inning. I checked the score later and it that was the final score.(We wanted to stay until the end, but we had to pick up Rog, grab a few ingredients for dinner and get home before the missionaries arrived. As it was, we pulled up right as the missionaries were turning the corner to our apartment.)

I usually just get pizza for the missionaries, but my sister Kim had asked for Sloppy Joes. (I know, fantastic San Francisco cuisine). I had taken the meat out to thaw before leaving for the game around 3 p.m. but it was still pretty frozen. I had E. Tanner making brownies and E. Rawlins cutting up watermelon while Rog mixed up the ingredients for homemade ice cream, I was cooking the hamburger and Kim was playing with Sarah.

Everything turned out great and we enjoyed having the missionaries teach us a lesson. Sarah got a little antsy near the end, but it was nice to have the missionaries in our home and the sweet spirit they bring.
