I am always a bit hesitant to go to the zoo for three reasons: 1-Because Sarah is so young that she is more interested in the grass and wood chips than the animals; 2-because it's always so foggy and cold over there and 3-It's during nap-time. But when you have a 19-year-old visiting and you want to hang out with your playgroup buddies you decide you'll risk it.

I am happy to announce Glenn, Sarah and I had had the best time at the San Francisco Zoo this morning. It was free day and we had friends meeting us so I figured it couldn't be all bad. I was pleasantly surprised by the weather. It actually was less foggy at the zoo than our neighborhood when we left it this morning. Sarah wasn't too interested in the reindeer, bears, birds, etc. but when we went to the Children's petting zoo she was ALL excited. She was reaching out to touch the goats. Who thought I would have shied away from letting her touch animals. But that was the case. I didn't want her hands all yucky. I think I will be OK with it down the road, but since she still likes to suck on her fingers it just grosses me out thinking about it. YUCK!

So I've come to the conclusion, free day at the zoo is great in December. There were hardly any buses and students. I'm excited to take Sarah when she's walking around. So much to look forward to!
I LOVE free days at the zoo! I am glad you had fun!
