Roger's Class Reunion

Roger's getting OLD. :) For Labor Day Weekend this year we headed to St. George to celebrate Rog's 15-year class reunion.

In the morning, there was an ice-cream social for families. It was kinda weird thinking about eating ice cream at 10 am, but the games and the company were great. Rog's team won the tug-a-war contest. (Rog came away with a few blisters on his accountant hands ...) Sarah loved the water balloons and playing with her cousins. (My oldest brother graduated in the same class as Rog - they were even friends in high school. However, I didn't meet Rog until just before their 10 year class reunion.) Rog and Peter even color-coordinated with red shirts and khaki shorts (mostly because I told Rog he couldn't wear his "Spongebob Squarepants" t-shirt.)

Funniest comment made to me: "I didn't know you married Roger Osness. I thought you came with your brother Peter." Now, I'm pretty sure he (yes, it was a he) didn't mean to offend or imply that I was a red-neck coming 6 1/2 months pregnant with my brother, his wife and 3 daughters to a class reunion for a school I didn't even graduate from (I graduated from a rival school actually), but ... Let's just say I just had to laugh.

We had lunch at Cafe Rio (how could we not?) with Roger's friend Sam Miles and his family. Can I just say how much I LOVE CAFE RIO SALADS!?! Although Sarah was super tired it worked out OK. After she was done eating - and while the rest of us ate our food - she ran around the restaurant. (Hey, we had the exits covered. She wasn't going to be able to escape. And it kept her from a melt-down. You do want you can.)

That night was an adult dinner. It was nice to have a baby-free evening. They aren't plentiful in my life right now. We sat at the "accountant" table with Peter & Valinda and Sam & Christine. (Valinda and I aren't accountants, but they let us eat with them anyway.) Peter gave a memorial presentation for the three students who have passed away since high school. One of whom was his really close friend. It was a special part to the evening and I was proud of my brother (and his supportive wife) to take the initiative to put it together.

Rog won the contest for "Most Unchanged." I guess he's one of the only guys not to put on a little weight. We debated whether or not Peter and I should go up as the "couple that looked the most alike." HeHeHe. Staheli Catering provided the tasty dutch-oven meal - complete with cobbler and vanilla ice cream. YUM!

Rog had a great time reminiscing with friends and I had a great time being with Rog. It was a fun night for sure. Can't wait to do it again in 5 years ...
