Jen, Joe, Sarah and I hopped in the car Friday and headed down to Half Moon Bay for an adventure on the farm. Apparently, Lemos Farm is a pretty popular place in October. Jen got us all excited about the pony rides, train rides, petting zoo and, of course, pumpkins. It did not disappoint and I can't wait for Roger and William to join us next year.
Sarah was great on the pony ride. She couldn't wait to get in with the "neigh-neighs!"
I was a little nervous about her getting on the pony all by herself, but she was a pro. (Granted, she only went around twice before the "all done, all done" voice was heard. But it was long enough to get a couple of photos.)
The train ride through ghost town was a fun adventure as well. I wish I could have heard inside of Sarah's head as we saw the gourds dressed up like people as well as the skeleton and ghosts along the way.
We couldn't pass up feeding the goats at the petting zoo. Sarah LOVED this activity. At first she would take only one or two pellets of feed and try to put it in the goats mouth (much like she takes one or two peas to put in her daddy's mouth). It didn't quite work out the ways she planned and the pellets would fall to the ground. I demonstrated how she could hold her hand flat and have several pellets on her hand at one time that the goats could gobble up. To my surprise she actually did it and the goats successfully ate most of her pellets. By the end she tried to let one goat "drink" the pellets from the cup. As you can imagine, it was a pretty funny sight. But again the goat was successful and we successfully ended up with no more pellets!
And just before leaving, Sarah got to pick out her own pumpkin. I think she did a pretty good job. I can't wait to carve our pumpkins for Family Night!
We love Lemos farm! We have a classic video of James giggling while feeding the goats. That place is great (if not overpriced!)
